Our latest survey found that 68% of hospitality workers regularly miss out on opportunities to earn extra income because they cannot access suitable shifts when they want them. At a time when the Government is focused on driving economic growth and increasing employment, the findings suggest many people are willing to work more but struggle to find flexible work that fits around their lives.
Among those who regularly miss out on additional shifts, 72% said earning extra income would reduce stress in their lives, highlighting the impact flexible work can have on financial wellbeing as well as household finances.
Tim Gibson, Chairman of FLEXSHFT and hospitality industry leader, said:
Manchester's hospitality sector has enormous potential to grow, but businesses can only take advantage of that opportunity if they have the teams in place to meet customer demand. Our research shows there is no shortage of people who want to work more - the challenge is connecting them with employers quickly and flexibly. FLEXSHFT gives businesses access to trusted workers exactly when they need them, helping operators fill shifts faster, improve customer experience and unlock additional revenue.
The findings reflect the challenge FLEXSHFT was created to solve - helping hospitality businesses fill shifts quickly while giving workers greater access to flexible earning opportunities.
Launching across Manchester this September, FLEXSHFT enables hospitality businesses to fill shifts quickly with verified local workers, reducing staffing gaps, protecting customer service and giving operators the confidence to meet demand. Workers benefit from greater flexibility and more opportunities to earn extra income. Hospitality businesses and workers can now register ahead of launch and be among the first to use the platform.
